MC Foundation Student Story
Ms. Magdiel Banire
Ms. Magdiel Banire was elected as a student representative to the board for a one-year term in 2025.
Ms. Banire is pursing her Associate of Arts degree in General Studies with a focus in STEM.
Ms. Banire is a dedicated and accomplished student leader at 海角禁区 known for her commitment to academic excellence, service, and leadership. She served as president of the Medical Careers Club, where she organized events connecting students with healthcare professionals and provided resources for those pursuing medical fields.
She was also elected vice president of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges. As a student leader in the MC Leads program, she helped foster leadership development among her peers, while her role as senator at-large in the Student Senate allowed her to advocate for student interests and campus improvements.
In addition to her leadership roles, she worked as a student aide for the Montgomery Scholars Program, supporting one of the College’s most prestigious honors programs. She also contributed to campus life as the stage manager for MC’s Got Talent, ensuring the smooth execution of the College’s annual talent showcase. Her diverse experiences reflect a passion for collaboration, education, and meaningful impact.
After 海角禁区, Ms. Banire plans to transfer to the University of Maryland College Park/Universities at Shady Grove to pursue a degree in biological sciences, with a focus on neurology and physiology. Following the completion of her bachelor’s, Ms. Banire plans on applying to medical school.
Mr. Mhambi Musonda
Mr. Mhambi Musonda was elected as a student representative to the board for a one-year term in 2025.
Mr. Musonda is pursuing an Associate of Arts degree in International Studies.
Mr. Musonda is engaged and proactive student leader at 海角禁区. He has
served as a student committee member for the MC Philanthropy Council, contributing
to initiatives that support community giving and student involvement.
Mr. Musonda was chair of the 海角禁区 Student Council, where he led efforts
to enhance student life and foster a vibrant campus community. He also served as a
senator at-large for the Student Government Association, advocating for student interests
and participating in campus governance.
In addition to his leadership roles, he is a staff writer for The Montgomery Advocate, crafting articles that highlight campus events, student voices, and important issues affecting the College community.
He has further developed his leadership and professional skills through participation in the MC Leads program and the E.I.F.F.E.L. program, both of which emphasize leadership development, community engagement, and career readiness.
Mr. Musonda’s educational goals include transferring to a four-year institution to double major in political science and English, with a minor in either international relations or African American studies. He intends to pursue a career in public interest law, driven by his ambition to serve in public office.
